I am totally in love with this little tablet, and I think Ellie Bean is too! When it arrived, I followed the instructions and allowed it to charge overnight before I powered it up to start setting it up. I appreciated that the tablet came with the case already on it and that it already had basic apps downloaded. There is an adult mode and a child mode, but once in child mode, it does require a passcode to revert back. This makes me feel fantastic as a parent because I know my daughter will not be able to access something that she is not supposed to. Thanks to the front and rear camera, I can enable skype so that Ellie Bean can have her own chat sessions with her aunts and uncles and cousins without the need for me to stop what I'm working on and hand over my work computer! Another great option is the time restrictions. I can set the time for an hour and then it will actually tell her to put it down (or whatever message you choose). I love that option to limit her screen time and even more so, that a company recognizes that these limits need to exist. Finally, I was skeptical at first about looking at a different brand, and typically, I go by "you get what you pay for"... in that respect, I have spent quite a bit on the bigger, more expensive brands like Leapfrog or InnoTab, and I am definitely happier with this tablet than I was with the battery life or app availability on the others. There is a huge value in iRulu, and I can't wait to try more of their products!
